DeAndre Hopkins took advantage of some cakewalk cornerback matchups, including for a highlight-reel touchdown. We still wouldn't trust this group, unless Blue strings a few consistent weeks together. Alfred Blue lapped the field in both carries and receptions out of the backfield. That actually works quite well for fantasy owners, and he's a prime streaming quarterback at this point. He'll either post passable numbers, like today, or throw them out of a game and into garbage time. With the state of the Texans backfield, the offense has to run though him. Brian Hoyer continues churning out solid fantasy production, and there wasn't any garbage time points in this one. Kendall Wright left the game with a knee injury, not that there was any passing value to be had in this game. We'll keep an eye on rookie David Cobb, who should be close to returning from a preseason injury, as this backfield just isn't settled yet. Antonio Andrews is the only running back who has any semblance of value, and saw 19 touches in this one. The Titans offense stands no chance as long as he's under center. Can we put to bed any talk that Zach Mettenberger is a good quarterback? He took sacks left and right, and threw an ugly interception toward the end of this game. The Titans were thoroughly outclassed by the Texans, and their offense never competed in this game. He's a near-lock for 10-plus targets every week. Alshon Jeffery is a WR1 now that he's back and healthy. Monitor Forte's status, and throw a speculative pickup Langford's way on waivers. It appears Jeremy Langford is the top backup, and he saw 12 carries today. The Bears offense suffered quite the blow when Matt Forte left the game early with a knee injury. He's worth a start on a weekly basis, and is currently rendering all other options in this passing game irrelevant. Consistent in this offense, going for 95 yards and score today. The offensive line, as currently constructed, just isn't doing him any favors. He'll push 100 yards every week and top 20 touches, but big plays and scoring opportunities are far more scarce than usual. Adrian Peterson, oddly enough, is something of a glorified volume back right now. If you're in a 10 or 12 team standard league, there will almost certainly be better options every week. This is such a low volume pass offense, that he can't afford to be anything but perfect to post a usable fantasy line. Teddy Bridgewater posted an economical stat line, and shanked a few passes today. Other than that, their offense was about the same as usual. Minnesota snuck out a last minute win on the road courtesy of a Blair Walsh field goal. Hopefully the team will address some of these issues in their bye next week, otherwise it could be a long rest of the season for fantasy owners who have Lions on their rosters. All told, the Lions offense was a mess in this game, dropping passes, allowing sacks and committing costly penalties. Calvin Johnson amassed 55 receiving yards, but left the game in the fourth quarter with an ankle injury, and did not return. Apparently JBC isn't a big fan of Ameer Abdullah, as the talented rookie barely saw the field except on special teams. The veteran showed a little juice on a couple of nice runs, but otherwise this was the same Bell we've grown accustomed to - the one who is too slow to exploit any holes and gets tackled by his own offensive line. The reports heading into the game were that the team wanted to establish the run, and they tried to do that early. Matthew Stafford still struggled to assign protections against the blitz, and his offensive line didn't do him many favors in general. The Jim Bob Cooter era on offense didn't get off to a great start. The Chiefs offense had their way with the Lions defense all game, as Alex Smith even had over 75 rushing yards on the day. Charcandrick West also backed up his solid game from Week 7 with over 100 total yards and a touchdown. For Kelce, it was his first trip to the painted area since Week 1. Jeremy Maclin and Travis Kelce both found the end zone. The Chiefs fans in London were rewarded with a great game from their offense.

On March 8, 2012, the Court ruled that the City owes up to $128 million in back pay damages for lost wages to victims of the City's discrimination. The Court indicated it would direct the City to compensate victims for lost wages (back pay) and lost seniority and to hire up to 293 victims of the City's discrimination who are currently qualified to be entry-level firefighters. On January 21, 2010, the Court issued its Preliminary Relief Order outlining the individual relief that it intended to award to black and Hispanic applicants harmed by the City's discriminatory uses of Exam 7029 and Exam 2043. It was part of a pattern, practice, and policy of intentional discrimination against black applicants that has deep historical antecedents and uniquely disabling effects. He City’s use of written exams with discriminatory impacts and little relation to the job of firefighter was not a one-time mistake or the product of benign neglect. On January 13, 2010, the Court entered an order finding the City liable for intentional discrimination against black applicants based on the additional claims asserted by the Plaintiffs-Intervenors. The Court also found that the City’s use of applicants’ written examination scores (in combination with their scores on a physical abilities test) to rank-order and process applicants for further consideration for employment violated Title VII. The Court found that the City’s use of the two written examinations as an initial pass/fail hurdle in the selection of firefighters was unlawful under Title VII. Today, the court holds that New York City’s reliance on these examinations constitutes employment discrimination in violation of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. These examinations unfairly excluded hundreds of qualified people of color from the opportunity to serve as New York City firefighters. The Court’s order summarized the case as follows:įrom 1999 to 2007, the New York City Fire Department used written examinations with discriminatory effects and little relationship to the job of a firefighter to select more than 5,300 candidates for admission to the New York City Fire Academy. Garaufis found that the City of New York had discriminated against black and Hispanic applicants for entry-level firefighter positions in violation of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, as amended, 42 U.S.C. Go here for more information regarding the claims asserted by the Plaintiffs-Intervenors. The Plaintiffs-Intervenors joined the claims asserted by the United States and also asserted that the City's conduct constituted a pattern or practice of intentional discrimination against black applicants. The United States' lawsuit was based partially on employment discrimination charges the Plaintiffs-Intervenors had filed with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. In September 2007, the Vulcan Society and several individual firefighter applicants (referred to here collectively as the "Plaintiffs-Intervenors") were permitted to intervene in the case filed by the United States. Go here for more information regarding the claims asserted by the United States. Specifically, the United States alleged that the City's use of Written Examinations 70, given between 19, to screen applicants for entry-level firefighter positions, and its decision to rank-order applicants who passed the written examinations for further consideration, had an unlawful disparate impact on black and Hispanic applicants. In May 2007, the United States filed a lawsuit against the City of New York, alleging that the City was engaged in a pattern or practice of discrimination in the hiring of entry-level firefighters. On the other, money just doesn’t disappear when you spend it on credit cards. On the one hand, that it only operates as of today is how it would work with real envelopes. I much prefer the way MoneyWell presents this (money sits in an income bucket until you distribute it to your other buckets).Įnvelope budgeting feels like it was designed by someone who either doesn’t do it normally or doesn’t use it in Banktivity with a setup of much complexity. That’s an okay default, but it doesn’t work well with the holding envelope pattern or for using one envelope to manage multiple kinds of expenses. Envelopes are tied intimately to expense categories. What one should want is for credit card spending to go into a holding envelope that gets emptied when the card is paid. It doesn’t work well with credit cards (but to be fair, most of the apps share this problem). It also means you can’t do transfers when a transaction occurred last month even when that was yesterday. That prevents you from importing a historical envelope budget from another tool. You can’t edit envelope transfers from prior months. The separate UI is clunky and not as flexible as the transaction UI. Envelopes are managed through a separate UI even though they are really just transfers. I don't do portfolio management in my software, I just do it only with our financial advisor's companies - they offer downloadable file, I just haven't had a good reason to go to the trouble to track it myself - unlike budgeting.Ĭlick to expand.Going from memory (it’s been a while), these are some limitations I hit. I just click a single import button it grabs the file, imports it and presents it for matching (I don't have any type of automated matching coded at this point - not sure I'm capable of that).īasically it's missing some normal financial software functionality that I don't currently need, but supports functionality that is rare elsewhere (like push a button and I get a PDF of all my charity donations for the year - including cancelled checks and receipts - we've been audited three times over 'excessive' donations). Doesn't take long to log in and download the files and the import is trivial - the software knows where it is downloaded and the name of the file. I've gradually added features such that I import Excel or CSV files from my financial institutions. My primary financial management software was written by me (in Filemaker) to do budgeting how I do budgeting (as I could not find anything on the market that did exactly what I wanted). As an automated way to sync with Bank data - none of my institutions require Direct Access As a balance double-check on my other software (I enter into Banktivity AND my other software) I have Banktivity 7 for two reasons - I will not be paying for a subscription regardless, the value isn't there for me (YMMV). Turbo Tax is the same way but I don't have a choice because my returns are a PITA without being able to process the number of accounts and transactions. Sorry it's a bit rent-seeking, as it was for Quicken when they broke off from Intuit. But a continuing $50 or more (almost the full price of the standalone) every year? Yes the convenience of aggregating all your accounts and producing an integrated view is worth something. But it's easy enough just to go to the brokerage site to look them up, to download and archive them. What I won't have are the records of each transaction, though I could probably import them to a spreadsheet. I can do investment tracking on Google Sheets for free, with much more reliable securities prices updating than Banktivity. I don't think that justifies a annual $50 and above continuing charge. But the bulk of the development work has been done. Yes they can deliver incremental features and bug and security fixes. Just get the software you have working reliably. I'm not against paying subscriptions for sustaining development but I question whether there's much innovation left to bring in personal finance software. I generally don't like subscriptions, though I've been paying for Adobe Creative Cloud. “You are the sum total of everything you’ve ever seen, heard, eaten, smelled, been told, forgot – it’s all there. By combining a respect for the past with a focus on the present, we can live our lives in a way that is both meaningful and fulfilling. At the same time, it is important to stay focused and centered in the present moment, and to make the most of the opportunities that are available to us right now. This can help us to make better decisions in the present, and to move forward into the future with a sense of direction and purpose. By looking back at our history, we can gain a better understanding of who we are and where we come from. I’m here, and I do my best to be completely centered at the place I’m at, then I go forward to the next place.” In This Maya Angelou Quotes emphasizes the importance of understanding and respecting the past, while also living in the present moment. I have respect for the past, but I’m a person of the moment. If you don’t know where you’ve come from, you don’t know where you’re going. Even when we can’t change something, we can still choose how we react to it and find ways to make the best out of any situation. We can take action to make changes in our environment and attitudes, and those changes will lead to greater happiness and satisfaction. If you can’t change it, change your attitude.” This quote is a great reminder that we have the power to create positive change in our lives. For Maya Angelou, music was a source of refuge and a way to find solace in the face of loneliness. Many people find that music has the ability to touch their hearts and minds in a way that other forms of art cannot. It can provide comfort and solace during difficult times, and help us to cope with feelings of loneliness. Music can be a form of escapism, allowing us to enter into a different world and leave our troubles behind. “ My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some style.” This Maya Angelou Quotes highlights the emotional power of music. It can be difficult to accept someone for who they are, but it’s better than being blindsided in the future. People often reveal who they really are through their behavior, so it’s important to pay attention and take them seriously the first time. “When someone shows you who they are, believe them the first time.” This quote by Maya Angelou is a reminder to trust people’s words and actions. Bulk Retractable Badge Holders | Bulk Badge Reels | Logo Badge Holders with Clips To find the best option you may want to test out different color codes to find what you like most. With different map, texture, and ability colors you will have to be careful with your crosshair color selection. For some maps you will want to enable outlines so you can see your crosshair clearly. Orange can blend into some walls making it difficult to see. Keep in mind that you may find the crosshair a little difficult to see when flashed by Reyna.įinally, an orange crosshair is also a viable crosshair color. The light blue color also looks great on clips and stream.Ī dark purple crosshair is easily visible on most backgrounds as purple isn’t a color you commonly run into. If you’re a fan of the popular four line crosshair then light blue may be a perfect fit. When using a dark red crosshair you may want to play with the opacity options to find something that isn’t too harsh.Īlthough a light blue crosshair won’t be easily visible on some maps, it does look clean with an outline. The dark red is an excellent alternative to black, making it a little easier to see in some situations. Fortunately, a darker red can now be used. The standard red color crosshair has typically been used by players that prefer darker crosshairs. A nice cream color can add some character to an otherwise white crosshair. You may run into issues when playing Viper, however, an outline will fix that.Īlthough a cream crosshair can blend in with some of the surrounding textures, it’s still worth a mention. Players who like white crosshairs should find joy with a light green crosshair. Unfortunately, there are some darker areas and surfaces that can be an issue. Fortunately, a black crosshair looks great in almost all situations as it stands out on floors, walls, and objects. Now, you can simply change the color code. In the past you would have to work some trickery with outlines to get a black crosshair. Turning on outlines will fix this issue and make the crosshair stand out. However, depending on the shade you may find the color hard to see in some scenarios. Using a light pink color is a great alternative for a white crosshair. Depending on your monitor and color settings the crosshair may look more pink than purple. A vibrant purple looks nice on crosshairs of all sizes. Purple is a good crosshair color that has a lot of versatility. In our experience, blue looks the best on small crosshairs. Unfortunately, the blue can get lost on some maps like Icebox. If you’re using a crosshair that works with outlines then this can fix visual issues.Ī standard blue crosshair looks great on clips and stands out fairly well. However, on some smaller crosshairs you may find the color looks odd. The rich color makes it stand out on most textures and maps. Aqua looks great on most crosshair designs and is easily visible with and without outlines. Select the color menu and choose custom.Īn aqua crosshair is a great alternative to cyan and green. How to Use a Custom Crosshair Color in Valorant The Dordogne lies in south-west France, in the administrative region of Nouvelle-Aquitaine, between the wild uplands of the Massif Central in the east and the flat fertile countryside of the Gironde and the Atlantic Ocean in the west. And perhaps the English have a particular affinity for this area because for several centuries it belonged to England, who fought bitterly to retain it in the Hundred Years’ War. With its mild climate and delicious food, it has become a popular tourist destination for French and foreigners alike, and many English have made it their second home, finding it not unlike the rural England of the past: peaceful and unspoilt, with no big, bustling towns and motorways clogged with traffic. It is a land of great scenic variety, from rolling wooded hills and fertile valleys to barren upland plateaus and limestone cliffs riddled with caves. The Dordogne is one of the most beautiful areas of France, with at its centre the river that gave its name to the department. Spring blossom near Lalinde (Walk 12): photo Richard Saynor In addition, the many new photos will illustrate to readers the variety and beauty of this part of France, loved by so many English.Ī house on the outskirts of Limeuil (Walk 15) INTRODUCTION Each walk is accompanied by a new sketch map which overlays a recorded GPS track and key features on a colourful Cicerone base map. The general introduction has been completely revised and the walks re-structured into four sections, each with its own introduction. In addition, we have added four completely new walks, including a flat, easy walk along the Dordogne at Bergerac, in order to give a feel for the importance of the river that has given its name to this department. When we started to do these walks again, we discovered that some of our previous routes had considerably changed, whereas others had been re-routed in the opposite direction – not a problem for route finding, but it meant that the walk itself had to be written up from scratch. In the past two years all the walks have been re-done by ourselves or by a few helpers, some of whom have themselves made the Dordogne their home. Despite this, the crowds rapidly fall away once you start walking, and you are soon alone.Īs revisers, we have had great pleasure in preparing this new edition and, in so doing, re-discovering this beautiful part of France. In addition, tourist offices have become increasingly aware that walking is a popular activity, and have made a considerable effort to create more walking trails, and to waymark them clearly. Since the first edition of Walking in the Dordogne was published in 2004, the area has become even more popular with British visitors, many of whom have made it their second home.
